Message from the Supervisor

Dear Aloysians, Brothers, Sisters, Friends and all Members of SLS &SLSP Family,
PEACE AND JOY to All !
Since we are celebrating the centenary of our school in memory of our Founder Don Bosco to set sail to China with his missionaries headed by Monsignor Luigi Versiglia in 21st August, 1926, we would realise his dream of mission and vision in the Mainland. In this occasion, we render our heartfelt gratitude to God for his Divine Providence and Mercy to be privileged to take care of young people in this blessed “Promised Land”. In addition to this, we are also appreciative to the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong, the LaSalle Brothers, and the Maryknollers to have entrusted to our ministry to bring forward the education and evangelisation for these and next decades.
Throughout history, the Salesians still lived in a context marked the by Catholic core belief and values and positive cultural sensitivity from Confucianism, St. John Bosco‘s Preventive System, a common term for the typical way of educating the young, they did not dedicate themselves to the education of the elite, yet, they gained strength in Western culture and Inculturation at the beginning of the twentieth century.
《Together We Dream, Together We Build》is the main theme of the year of our celebrations. Today, in diverse fields many of our Aloysians accredit their success and achievements to honour the Alma Mater as the potentiality from Loving-Kindness, Reason and Religion mingled with the Multiple Intelligences, they resonate their leaderships with Scientia et Pietas as motto to serve God and Man. This marks the milestone of affirmation of mass state schooling in how schools were organised had to be faced up to. In fact, it confirms that St. Louis School Salesian education adapts creatively at a practical and organisational level by reinventing some of its activities and structures for the new needs.
In union with Jesus, Mary and Don Bosco,

Message from the Principal
Dear Aloysians,
Together We Dream, Together We Build
As St. Louis School approaches the celebration of its Centenary, we give thanks for a remarkable journey of faith, education and service. What began as a small school, handed over to the Salesian Fathers in 1927, in the western part of Hong Kong has grown into a vibrant learning community that has nurtured generations of young men, empowering them to become responsible citizens, compassionate leaders and people of integrity. Throughout the decades, St. Louis has remained steadfast in its mission, guided by the Salesian spirit and the enduring values of Scientia et Pietas — knowledge and virtue.
The theme of our Centenary Celebration, “Together We Dream, Together We Build,” captures the very essence of the St. Louis story. One hundred years ago, visionary educators and devoted benefactors dreamed of providing young people with opportunities for growth and formation. Through dedication, perseverance and collaboration, they transformed those dreams into reality. The school we cherish today stands as a testament to the collective efforts of countless Salesians, teachers, students, parents, alumni and friends who have contributed to its development across generations.
Standing at this centenary milestone, we continue to uphold the Preventive System of Education as our guiding compass. Rooted in this visionary legacy, we embrace the future with innovation. The word “Dream” reminds us to be inspired by the hopes and aspirations that have always propelled St. Louis forward. The word “Build” challenges us to turn those aspirations into action — to strengthen our school community, enrich the educational experience of our students, preserve our treasured heritage and prepare confidently for the future. Together, these two ideas express our belief that the next chapter of St. Louis will be written not by individuals alone, but by a united community working towards a common vision.
Our Centenary is therefore more than a celebration of the past. It is an opportunity to honour those who came before us, to rejoice in the achievements of the present, and to invest in the future generations of Aloysians. We hope that the many commemorative activities, gatherings and projects in the coming years will rekindle relationships, strengthen community bonds and deepen our shared sense of belonging.
As Principal, I warmly invite all alumni, parents, students, staff members and friends of St. Louis School to join us on this historic occasion. Your participation, encouragement and support will help make our Centenary Celebration a meaningful and memorable chapter in the life of our school. Together, let us celebrate our rich heritage, embrace our shared dreams, and continue building a future worthy of the legacy entrusted to us.
May God bless St. Louis School and all who are part of our family.
